The Great Optimist Challenge is ON! Help us make a dent of GOODNESS in this world!
Inspired by the story of The Little Optimist, we want to show the world that LITTLE people can do GREAT things!
We are inviting everyone and anyone to participate in a fun and meaningful challenge, regardless of age, location, or experience. This global initiative goes beyond borders, allowing you to enter from anywhere in the world using any body of water or piece of land, using any contraption, sport, or challenge you can imagine!
The Challenge is more than just a competition – it’s about little people doing GREAT things for charity and for the good of others. We encourage participants to raise funds for The Little Optimist Trust and any other charity of their choice. The Great Optimist Challenge offers incredible flexibility, so that you can find a TIME, a PLACE, and a CHALLENGE to suit YOU and your passion and desire. SO, dust off your trusty inflatable tube, grab a pool float shaped like a majestic flamingo, sit in an Optimist Dinghy, sail your catamaran, run a race, cycle a tour, or climb a mountain… any challenge that will inspire others to back YOU and help YOU raise some funds for GOOD! Choose a date and time that works best for you within our designated window, or apply to do it when it suits you. It’s ON, and it’s all for GOOD!
The Little Optimist Trust has a sailing academy at Cape Town’s Waterfront.
We’ll have our Optimist fleet ready for YOU to learn, sail, borrow and float in should you need one for your challenge.
We also have, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and a Tandem Bike should you require these for your personal challenges.
